It was a peach while it lasted

For three years now, an oily moral poison has been leaking from the wrecked hull of that stately grand dame of the democratic oceans, the USS White House. The crew's failure last week to clap Mad Captain Donnie in irons (or wait - should that be "make Mad Captain Clap don irons"?) has many depressing implications. But a minor one I've seen no one else remark on is ironically characteristic, in that it's an insult to the very language. A fine, noble word, once reserved to describe the character and integrity of only the best people, can no longer be used without wincing: unimpeachable. Yes, the Great Orange Toad who squats on the nation has poisoned that too.
